Dog Food

I am just curious as to what you guys are feeding your dogs. I looked for a thread about this but I didn't see anything. I'm new here and I don't want to start a debate or anything, but I'm a little worried that a lot of the problems people seem to be having could be closely realted to the type of food that the dog is eating. I belong to another forum that is specific to my breed (I am expanding my horizions which landed me here with you all) and we have done a lot of research on dog foods and what is in them. I encourage you all to read what is in the list of ingredients of your dog's food. If you want your dogs to be healthy then start with a food that is free from allergens such as corn, wheat, eggs, soy and animal by-products. Some dogs are even allergic to chicken. Commercial brands also often contain preseratives, colorings, flavorings and some other things that you don't even want to know about. (You know where animals end up after they are euthanized right?) Seriously, no joke! If anyone wants me to post a list of really good quality foods, I will be glad to do it. Commerial foods that you find in most grocery stores and also in pet stores and even in vet clinics is like junk food for your dog. Companies spray on fats and flavorings to make it palatable so the dogs will eat it, but you end up with a dog that poops too much, scratches constantly, attracts parasites, and is generally unhealthy. Sure some dogs have live to a ripe old age without any problems, but are you willing to take that chance?
