Derf is an unknown quantity at this point
Training - At what age?

At what age should I start training my puppy commands like sit, stay, come, etc? My puppy is about 7 weeks old right now, is she too young to learn? And at what age can I put a collar on her?

I started training at about 8 to 9 weeks. Like young kids, puppies are very impressionable and I found it very easy to get the basics trained within a few weeks. I also put the collar on at that age and it worked out just fine.

Training comes as early as possible, same as a lightweight collar. It is never too young to start training. Start now! My breeder had already oriented her puppies with collars and lightweight leashes, so when I got mine at 7 weeks, he had a collar (no tags, just a collar). And we started training on day one.

No time like the present. Several short training sessions throughout the day now will teach your pup the basics as well as make him more manageable. Get a puppy collar and put it on them. They should get used to it especially if you are planning on having them wear it all the time. I contacted my city licensing and got my pup a puppy license so if she ever got lost they would know where home was. Over the course of my life - I can't tell you have many pups escaped, wandered off and are lost forever. Each one is like losing a piece of your heart and you hope they were found & adopted but you never know

I agree with Dax...short sessions starting now. Their attention span is very short the younger they are. You will know if have her attention, if you don't have her focused your wasting both of your time. The more you put into them the more you get in return.
