Peanuts toxic?

I just viewed the post on poisonous things for dogs. Wasn't sure I should put a question in there so I am posting it here. My husband occationaly feeds Gretta peanuts. I've heard they are bad for dogs. But then I see all these peanut butter flavored treats in pet stores and advertised in pet catalogs. I've asked hubby to hold off till we know for sure. Thanks for any input.

I don't think that peanuts are toxic - after all the Kong company suggests you put peanut butter in their toys to keep them entertained and I put some in Poppy's toy everyday! The only things that humans eat that are toxic to dogs are onions and chocolate as far as I know. I also read that grapes and raisins are toxic but when I asked my vet she said they aren't - but just to be on the safe side I don't give her grapes anymore.

Well, if you give Poppy peanut butter in her toy I guess I'll tell hubby he can go ahead and enjoy giving Gretta a few peanuts when he's snacking on them. That will make him happy. He's a real push over for my dogs. (Says he's a cat person. LOL!) He spoils my pups as much as I do. Thanks for the information. Have a great day!

Thanks Moo. Now I have two positives to make me feel confident about letting hubby fed them. Great! Thanks I appreciate your input.
