It's off to the vet's we go (tomorrow that is)

Tomorrow we are taking both of the dogs to the vet. Denali has a spot right before her tail starts that she's been chewing on like mad and the spot was a greenish/yellow and was just 'icky'. I have been putting hydrocortizone on it and it turned a black color (ewww). We're going to the vet to have that looked at.

Loki is going to have his ears checked for infection and just a check up to see why he's been somewhat aggressive toward Denali recently (if it is medical). His ears do have a slight odor, so I'm thinking it's ear infections again.

Could the spot on Denali be a hot spot?

Do you use a daily ear cleaner on Loki?

Denali's could be a hot spot - she's so very very itchy - I want to see what we can do to help her out.

Loki - daily cleaner.... I don't know if I can catch him daily!! he HATES having his ears messed with - infected or not!

Then it's a good way to get him to understand you are boss and will touch his ears if you want. Seriously daily cleaning with a good ear cleaner will help him lots of he has reoccurring ear infections.. and that's not something you want to happen. It can eventually cause severe and irreversible damage. (Saw that on animal planet. Poor pup couldn't walk straight cuz his equilibrium was damaged.)

Back - Denali has hot spots due to allergies - as suspected. They are treating her with antibiotics because the one hot spot is indeed infected. He gave us some spray for the itchies because the meds he wanted to give her caused um... a 2 1/2 day visit from the Brown-Runny-Monster.

Loki was fine. He said they're probably just fighting like kids would fight over a toy. He said because he hasn't caused her any real damage (or she hasn't caused him any real damage) that they are fine together, but if it gets worse to keep them seperated except for when we are home.
