Calcified Discs..hereditary??

I just found out that the sire of my cardi has been diagnosed with having Calcified discs.
Can anyone give me more info (or send me somewhere that I can get more info) on this, how to prevent the problem from getting worse??
Does anyone know for fact if it is hereditary?? Or whether it can be influenced by diet, exercise, etc???

Thanks,
Kathryn & Moxie (CWC)

ok - this is the best site i've found so far - there's not much out there on this subject!

it looks a pretty painful disease and it depends on how fast the symptoms appeared as to how good the prognosis is. they can do surgery but there's always a risk of that not working.
