dog food thats as good as eukanuba?

Could anyone tell me if they would recommend "Hills Lamb & Rice Science Diet for puppies" for their pups? Im currently feeding my pups eukanuba puppy food but i noticed a decrease in appetite so i want to switch to another brand. I also heard Nature's recipe is good. Any suggestions abt the brands mentioned above or any other brand i should consider? (note: we do not have Nutro or Muenster here).

How old are the pups?

I researched the Eukanuba Large breed puppy food prior to using it, it has an optimal calcium/phosphorous ratio as well as being in the middle of the fat protein guidelines from aafco.

If they are a bit older take a look at eagle pack holistic, it is all natural and has quality ingredients.

However being as you dont have Neutro, its possible you'll have a hard time finding alot of the super premium brands.

Wellness, Solid Gold, Innova, Canidae, Chicken soup for the dog lovers soul, Back to Basics, Natural Balance, Burns (there are many other super premiums) -- are all excellent foods. Again, you might have a hard time finding them.. go the websites and see if there are any retailers in your area.

I dont know where you live, but if you can buy Eukanuba you must be able to buy other premium brands as Eukanuba normally isnt sold in grocery strores... so if you have a Petsmart, you might be able to buy BilJac. BilJac is ok for a finicky eater (i think they put Molasses in it to increase palatability).

If you'd like -let me know what breed they are, how old, and how much they weigh-i'll try to make a more specific recommendation. If you tell me what town your near, i'll let you know whats available in your area.

Goombaya, thanks so much for being so helpful! My pups are cocoa (shih tzu) 3months old and boozer (pug) 2months old. I stay in the Philippines so i'll understand if you cant look up availability here lol but just so that you know, i've seen Canidae, Holistic, Natural Balance among others here. I decided to stick to eukanuba but in the lamb variant instead of just the plain one. Though i'm about to buy an english bulldog today, would that type of food be ok for that breed? thank alot!

I took my dogs off eukanuba as they were losing weight on it. It isn't as good a food as it is made out to be.
I have tried every dog food over the years and have to say the best I have found is nutro (pity you can't get that). Chappie is also a great food. So many people think that because it is so cheap it isn't decent but it is.

My dogs were having problems with most of the high priced name brands. I switched to Pedigree and have had no more bowel upsets....

Sadly, the all pedigree dry dog food got pulled out in a number of asian countries, including here, coz it was believed to have been mixed with chickens affected with the bird flu Over 600 dogs in china have died because of eating pedigree and just last week, as i visited the vets, a very sad owner of a 1yr old retriever was nearly in tears coz her dog had to be put to sleep due to the effects on pedigree. I've been so lucky that I never fed him on pedigree but i did throw my pedigree biscuits to make sure. Dont get me wrong, only the pedigrees made in malaysai were the oned contaminated. The ones made there are believed to be safe But thanks again for all your inputs!

Oh my! I am going to check into this... My mixed breed dog has devoloped a cough and I wonder if it has anything to do with it...Thanks for the heads up....
