mites
can older dogs have problems from mites or just puppies?

I'm not sure on this, but I think I read that if an older dog is around a kitten or puppy with mites, the dog may catch them. Never hurts to do a good ear cleaning and you can see what you have it the poor old dogs ear.

i think that they can Get ear mits as an older dog if they are exposed to them.

Yes they can get them, I rescued a cat,that had them,and my old dog,maggie got them, I had one heck of a time getting rid of them.
