I'm so confused.

I think agility goes against everything that I've taught this dog. Run away from me, run ahead of me. Jumping up is positive. No more hand motion, just yelling. Here I am in this mess thinking "WHAT?". It was a relatively smooth night. No pomeranian tonight, so things went a little quicker. No more Malionois, but theres these 3 chinese people and thie rout of control husky. Now don't get me wrong, with Chinese roots myself, I now that alot of Chinese people just talk loud. So, there's these three people and a barking husky, and I'm pulling my hair out on the small-dog side. Lucky me, my dog was cooperating, funny, the dog who is normally the most attentive (a Malti-Schnoodle-Jack-X) was barking and jumping, and just not paying attention. We got lots of teeter, Kiby loves the bang, then lots of course work which had me confused. Teeter? Tire? Tunnel? What? And my pivot really bites.

I thought we were getting out okay, but to top off the evening Kirby growled at a border collie, before they both attacked eachother. I was so surprised, he's never bitten any person or dog before. Not the pomeranian that attacks him, not the Malti-poos that attack me, not any german shepard that he barks wildly at. I felt so bad, the border collie's owner had this horrified look on her face. No damage done, but I have no clue what went down. Augh.

Good grief, what a evening! Was it at the end of the night the attack happened? If so maybe it was due to both dogs being a bit tired and cranky. Like we keep saying dogs are like kids. When small children are over tired they often do not act themselves. Clifford recently went after a weimariner puppy, no idea why! He has been around other dogs since and acts like an angel. Sorry MOO no better answer, I am as stumped as you.

It was the end of my time slot, we were done for the night, the border collie was just coming in. At the hour, the gates open and the next time slot (bigger dogs) comes in and we go out. Same dogs come in after us every week. He's never had anything against border collies, they're everywhere. I'm hoping that he was just tired (one dog short in the class, so theororetically each dog was doing 5% more).

Oh dear, not a good night - if you're confused, what about poor Kirby? I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. Keep going and don't give up.

As for the collie, don't worry too much - they were probably just tired and cranky as dobermom said.

THe BC's owner might have noticed Kirby but the dog was probably rushing on to his class. Most of them are so focused to the extreme. Maybe Kirby was sad his turn was up and that this dog was taking his place. He might not like this dog. Basil had to adjust this spring when DD & DSIL brought their 9 dogs for a visit. He finally got it through his head that they are more interested in my son (who plays ball/frizbee) than in his royal highness. Jody, the puppy was never acceptable as she was too rough. She has started on sheep since then so their next meeting will be another matter.
Did you do obedience with Kirby too? You are such a good Mom, Moo.

Thanks guys. For got to add, The part where I'm supposed to say the command for the next obstacle just when he's starting the first obstacle is making my head spin. I think Kirby is faring better than I am, but he has to listen to my babbling.

I know Kirby was the instigator in the little episode, and the other owner did too. She immediately shot a look at the instructor (there's an aggression policy), and she shrugged it off, Kirby's been mellow on the aggression considering his energy, told me to let him know it's unacceptable. I'm just hoping that next week, neither Kirby, nor the border collie, (or the other owner) will be holding anything against eachother next week.

Thanks SouthPaw, I appreciate it Yes, we did puppy and basic obedience. Boy, 9 dogs... that's... alot of dogs. Sounds like a handful.

Hang in there Moo, sometimes it just happens, not every dog likes each other, just like us humans, sometimes they just don't click if you know what I mean. It could just be one of those cases. Steer clear of the other dog if you can. Dogs go by doggy language, maybe the other dog was sending a message to Kirby, (keep away) and Kirby picked up on it. I would say it is the other dog with the problem NOT Kirby.
You know the temperament of him, just look at him in dress up, how many dogs will tolerate that. NO, don't worry, it is not you or him, don't doubt it. It is the other dog.
