Hello, I was wondering if anyone here shows, competes with their dogs? If so, what type of grooming does a dog need before being shown etc? I have a new dog coming Tuesday that will be used in showing, obedience and maybe agility. I have never shown and would like to handle my dog myself. Any information would be handly....Kim

I agree with Groombaya what breed is the dog? Have you considered working with a handler to get some experience before starting to show?

Get someone to show you the ropes. Don't let some of these "professional" handlers intimidate you. They can be catty, rude and insufferable. Good luck.
