Barking is a bad habit to brake,
He is just a puppy let him be a puppy. When time comes and he feels the need he will let you know .

GSD's can and will protect you if necessary. Dakota almost never barks, so when she does, we know to look around and see what's up. Don't worry about your dog not barking. He will still protect you.

You don't want them to grow to fast. They will slow down after a year, and are generally done growing physically at 18 months. GSD's are considered puppies for the first 3 years of their life. Dakota is almost two now and she's still very puppy like.

Are you getting your dog spayed? 6 months is the ideal time to do so.

Just because you can breed a dog doesn't mean that you should. Please read the pm that I sent you regarding breeding this breed.

I agree, when my male Doberman was that age he was not much of a barker. He is now 3, and barks ALOT.
Dont worry it will come natural to her. My advice is to be very careful at "creating" a guard dog. This is something very natural for the breed.
