I would speak with my vet who is familar with the dog's overall health. He can make recommendations about diet, supplements and other matters to ensure the health of the mom and her pups.

Yes you give calcium after they are born, not before. what are you feeding now, and how long to go. Feed a puppy formula up till whelping.
Dosage depends on the type of calcium...powder or liquid. Follow instructions on the packet or bottle.

I'm feeding mama Wolf Cub Bison puppy food. She's due to have puppies anyday now. I'm taking temp twice a day. She's at 99.5 to 99.7. 98 seems to be the magic temp.lol

Excited for new pups!

Exciting!!!! Glad you have her on the pup formula. Not too many breeders do that.
I always have, at conception I normally start.
So she's had the best stuff, you are all prepared. Yes the temp drops a whole degree, so when you are hovering inbetween your current temps. she isn't quite ready yet. Plus you normally have 12-24 hours after the drop as well.
I found that panting also came with the drop.
Did you work out the calcium yet, I can go look on my container if you are going to give the powder and tell you the calculation.
Please stay with us, I love to hear about whelpings and how babies are doing. So I want to know how many? What sex? How mom is etc. and pics if you can, of course.

Thumbs up

I've started her on Cal-tabs. The vet recommended them. We have the whempling bed set up in the living room & I'm ready to help. I've been thru~ this before & enjoyed the whole process. I will post picture & updates asap.
