Red face Constipated puppy: new food or ate something bad?

We've had our awesome 4 month old beagle mix pup, Prince, for about a month. He got really bloated the first couple of days because of the food change. Well, today my husband didn't think of the importance of picking the same food and Prince is almost as big around as I am. Well, 2-3 times his normal diameter anyway. If this is just a food thing, though I hate to see him so miserable I am sure he'll get through it. What scares me is that the sitter reported that he's been eating the spong mop!!!

Should I really worry that the mop may have stopped him up to the point of needing the vet, or will this too pass (pun intended), if that's what it is? I'm really worried. I've always been afraid of what my family would do to a pet...

I'd take him to the vet if he's bloated as bad as you say.

whew! he just took a major load off and has been gassy. I'll keep a close eye on him since i have the weekend off, but at least I know something's able to get out. It's really frustrating thinking that there are two other adults in this house while I'm at work all day and they don't keep Prince out of trouble. And how could my hubby not know that Prince should keep the same food after the trouble he had when we brought him home?
