I don't know if it is available where you are, but I have had great success with Vetri-Science products with my Rottie. She was about 12 years old when I started her on it, and she could jump into the front of the truck again after being on it for a few weeks. (she had not been able to do that for a year or so before)- I used the Glyco-Flex II, which has glucosamine, perna canaliculus, msm, dmg and manganese in it. It is distributed by Vetri-Science of Vermont, 1-800-8829993 is the phone number in the US. the internet is www.vetriscience.com There is another company that I used for a horse that I have used, and also frinds have used for their horses with good success- I think they make dog products, also. It is Corta-Flex. Sorry- I don't have the horse anymore, so I don't have the product here to look at the info for you. I know there are tons out there, but both of these were recommended by my vet.

I was told by a chiropractor, Knox gelatine. You should be able to get it at a grocery store by the jello. It is supposed to be the strongest, purest source of glucosamine and inexpensive. I am using it on my shepard who does have HD and she has improved remarkably. She was almost nonexistent laying around all the time and now she is actually trying to jump and get a frisbee. In the US it is about $6 for 36 packets. 1 packet a day for a larger dog. I had a thread on this once and many others on this forum use this as well

We're not that big on corta-flex or glucosamine out here either. Our vets don't really believe in it. I've seen people use it, and they didn't find any improvement. But the pure Gelatin is highly recommended and seems to work fantastic. They even put it in the track horses' feed. I put some in my dog meals every day just to avoid future problems.

My vet recommends glucosamine with chrondroitin - you can get the stuff from Boots or even the supermarkets stock it now. My friend (who goes to the same vet) has used it with all her labs and seen great results.

Agility dog, I don't think I've ever seen Knox gelatine over here but I'll look out for it next time I go shopping

I'll look for that at the shops as well. At the moment Jasper is on arthriti-um but I wanted something with more active ingredients in it. Baby E do you know which ones to buy and how much to feed a 23 kg dog?
