Luca Update

I have such a wonderful vet. I can never say that enough. As you know Luca was not healing very well from his neuter surgery. He was swollen and raw and had some discharge. We called the vet agian and she said to bring him in. When we did she discovered a couple of the disolving stitches had not disolved. Which was the cause of the problem. All the others had. 2 had not. So she removed them and gave us a cream to put on him. She did this all on a moments notice free of charge. Luca is now almost completely healed. It is no longer swollen or even red. All is fine. I am so glad to finally have a vet who cares so much about her patients.

Fantastic news about Luca and a great weight of your mind as well.
Tell Luca to look after you as you have been the one who has been more worried than Luca.
So nice to recieve a positive report.

Good news for Luca! Sounds like a great vet, too.

frankie - Thank you so much. Yes it is a huge weight off. Just check him agian this morning. Hair is finnally starting to grow back there agian. And there is only a small scab. It is no longer red either. YIPPEEE.

RoughCollies - Thanks. Luca now has pano in one of his hind legs. So now that the concern about the suregery is over I get to be concerned about that. . He hadn't had to have any of his pain meds in over a month. So we gave him some on Saturday night. The limp isn't as bad now. I can't wait till he is 18 months and has out grown this.

Glad to hear that things are going ok! Rusty also had to have his dissolving stitches cut out when he had his dewclaws removed. So much for dissolving

Good news about Luca. Fireking had a similar problem with his limp and the vets told us that he would not grow out until 18 months but it was much earlier than that. probably a year or so, and then nothing after that so you have all the enjoyment to look forward to.
Best wishes to you both.

I wish I had a vet like that. Finding a really good vet is hard. And the vet clinic I now go to, we never see the same vet twice. Too many new faces.
