Pearl had it when she was a pup and is kept re-occurring for a while but she grew out of it, apart from the sickness and the weight less I didn't notice anything different in her

why did you have to make sure it wasn't the yellow or orange? what does that indicate?

and, thanks for the good wishes!

Give her a little dab of unflavored yogurt to replenish the good bacteria in her tummy - the antibiotics will kill all of that off which is why they often get diarrhea.

Hannah has had UTI's, but I now include a cranberry extract capsule in her meals, and the apple cider vinegar/honey tonic also helps to keep the Ph correct in the urinary tract. Since doing these two things, we've had no more problems.

thanks! i can get her some yogurt on the way home tonight.

oh, i hope there is no diarrhea.... ugh.

i was already shocked she pee'd in the house last night at around 4:20 am. she hasn't done that in a LONG time so i knew something was up.

and the vet wants me to try to collect a urine sample - yeah right! lol everytime i try to slip a pan under her when she starts to pee she looks at me like i'm insane and stops going.

Louise had a UTI back when i first had her. My clue was that she smelled a little raunchy and kept licking herself. I brought in a sample and sure enough she had one. She was on Amoxicillin for like a total of 21 days, and she was fine.

Hasn't had one since!

I have had the "pleasure" of lots of uti's in all three of my dogs. Cali's on her third one and she's 18 months old. With every bout, she would take some routine antibiotic which would clear it up - for a while. She's on amoxicilan now.

Recently, my holistic vet said the reg vet should be growing a culture of Cali's urine to see exactly what's going on. Well, I asked the vet to do it and the culture results came back today and the vet called and said Cali does have an infection but she needs to be on a different antibiotic.

Net, if uti's persist, get a culture done in order to get the right antibiotic for the problem.

Ariel is currently on Nova-Lexin (500mg/tab) twice a day. She had a snot like discharge from her vulva. If this doesn't clear they are going "in" to take swabs. Vet mentioned it could be UTI related.

No increase in thirst or quesy stomach.

Hugs to all the pups mentioned who are currently on medication.
