Feet.
Don't forget your dogs feet when you are grooming. They too can have problems, just a quick check can save a vet visit later. The things that can affect the skin on the body can also affect the skin of the feet.
COMMON PROBLEMS WITH DOGS FEET: Allergies Infections Mites Bites or Stings Cuts Acral Lick Dermatitis Parasites Ingrown Nails TOES: Check between the toes regularly, especially in the summer, grass seeds can get lodged in the fur and work their way up causing an infection. Never pull it back out unless you know what you are doing. They are like fish hooks, they have tiny barbs that make them stick in. Keep the fur trimmed in long coated dogs if you exercise in fields. Do a regular check of any breed after outdoors exercise. PADS: Can get worn or injured. A regular check, especially if you see your dog limping, is a must. If you are planning a long hike, just remember your dogs feet can get sore too. If your dog IS LIMPING and you cannot see an obvious reason, it is always best to contact your vets.
