OFA a spayed dog?

Is it worth OFA a dog even though he is spayed?.
How many of you, have done it?
My male is OFA x-ray for both,hips and elbows because he is a show dog.
I didn't do my female cos she is spayed and wondered if I should or is it a waste of money?

You can do it for your own sake.Some breeder have their puppis they place as pet OFA so they know what they are producing all the way around.

I will be asking my adopters to OFA hips and elbows of the pups so that I can add it to my records about what is in the lines and what I am producing. I plan to give a rebate of some money if they do do it for me.

I would recomend it if you have the money - from a breeders perpective the move information out there about your dogs get the better.

Especially if it is a positive reading.

You could also just have regular pelvic radiographs done that don't need to certified by OFA or graded by OFA. That would lower the cost quite a bit. Especially if its just for your own knowledge, there doesn't seem much of a point to do it if you aren't going to breed etc. But to have a vet look at it and let you know how her hips look isn't a bad idea.

I probably will just for my own peace of mind and as information for my breeder. I'm sure it would be valuable info for her to have.
