Skin problems
Hi, can anyone help me. My dobie mix has a long tail. For about a month he has had some bumps on the upper part of his tail by his body. When I brush him, weird black specks come off of him. It comes back in a day or two. It also seems to hurt when I touch it. He doesn't have fleas, but it almost looks like flea nits or feces. Has anyone had this problem or know what causes it or what can be done about it. He's now taking antibiotics, but it doesn't seem to be healing like I'd like. Can anyone help? Appreciate it. mythreeorphans

Well, he's on the antibiotics, so what does the vet say it is?
If it's just a funky rash, I would suggest washing it with hibatine, to try to keep the area clean.

Are you sure he is not licking or biting the area, causing a local infection, the black stuff could be little scabs comming off, then when he starts at it again, it starts to heal and so on.
