Bogey went to the oncologist today for a followup

Many of you know that my Bogey had a cancerous lump removed earlier this year followed by weeks of yucky treatments.

He went for his last follow up for this year today. They took bloodwork and did an ultrasound. The bloodwork hasn't come back yet, but the ultrasound showed nothing remarkable in the way of any cancer returning.

Cancer treatment for dogs, specifically chemo, doesn't typically provide a cure that a human might get. What is usually does is buy the dog some time. Sometimes, a few years. It's just hard to say.

Anyway, between his cancer and my cancer scare this year, we'll take whatever we can get.

We're going to do a cancer walk in a few weeks and he will proudly wear his pink survivor t-shirt!! Yay!!

I didn't know that about cancer treatment for dogs. Thanks for the post, and I'm very glad the ultrasound showed nothing. Good luck on the bloodwork!
