Sophie has sore feet what can I put on them.

Sophie has got very, very, sore pads, what can I do for her in the mean time to soothe them for her. I have a few bits and pieces at home.

They are dry, rough, hot to touch, she is grizzling if I try to touch them..No blood or cuts.

Do you have any udder butter (extra thick cream they put on cow's udders to ease soreness). Cool compress of plain water and rest should be enough. She's put a lot of miles on those poor old feet.

Bag balm is good for overworked dog and human feet. For alot of running on rough cement over here and various other surfaces, I've managed the monster to let me bag balm him every now and then. Not sure what other things there are about.

Vaseline should do the trick and is easy to obtain. Just like your feet feel better after a massage, so do your dog's paws. Gently rub some vaseline on all paws and you'll quickly relieve dryness and soreness.

Ah, Moo! You are so right. Bag Balm is a wonder! It will soothe those feet and help heal any cracks or rough pads. We use it on cuts and scrapes the dogs get when running through the woods or bolting through barbed wire fences too.

Probably very similar to udder butter (Dax)as it was originally produced for udders.

Good luck soothing your babe, Ellie.

Bag balm and udder balm are essentially the same. I use udder balm all winter on my labs' feet. Greta used to crack and tear her pads. I swear that udder balm works better than the mushers' cream, and it is much cheaper.

I second everyone's opinion of bag balm/udder butter.. and.. if all else fails, the vaseline should work if that's what you already have...

Sounds like some work but I know its worth it to have them home and safe!!

I've heard that Vaseline also works for killing ticks, and as a good laxative on the furry ones. Talk about multiple purpose!
