Flaky Skin in ears.
Hi everyone
I have a 3 year old min Poodle and he has a lot of flakes of skin inside his ear (the flap part). I've never had this problem with my other Poodle and I did mention it to the Vet about 5 weeks ago and she said it was dry skin, not to worry about it and to wash his ears with cold water.
I asked could I apply some Sudocrem (works for everything on dry skin with Dogs) but she said I could but it will make his ears sticky. So I washed them with cold water and its still there. Its all between the hairs and looks like big flakes.
I thought it was Eczema because he keeps scratching but its not red and I haven't applyed any cream as of yet. It doesn't bother him a lot but I don't want him to have flaky ears. I was told when he was a puppy by another Vet that he had narrow ear canals and because his ears become very hairy, he must always have them plucked thoroughly otherwise it could cause problems later on. I do this....hair still grows like a baboon but the flakes. There bugging me.
Any idea what it could be or what I could try to get rid of it?
