Cat Adoption.

I know this area is for Dog adoption. But.... I'm going to adopt a CAT!

Mother if you read this don't say a word to Sierra.

The pet store was going to send him back because he is attacking his new cage mates. Which means he'd be euthanized. So instead I got my landlords permission to adopt him. I should be able to bring him home tonight. I know Kota loves cats. But I don't know how the cat is with dogs. Lets hope it's a smooth transition. If not, I'll need suggestions on how to get them to behave. I wish I could take Kota up to meet him before everything is finalized but I won't get the chance. I have to take him today or I'm afraid he'll go back to the humane society where his chance at life will be over.

I'll of course get pictures...and I need name suggestions. They called him Elexis. I'm thinking of just calling him lex. But I am not stuck on that.

Roxy, He's a tabby. Sorry my internet connection got cut off so no pictures. I think we have decided on naming him Bast. Bast is the Egyptian goddess of cats. I know my kitty is a male and the goddess was always portrayed as female. But I feel that she was and is watching over all cats and I think she really wanted me to have him. I pray all the time for the cats that go to the shelter and up at our store. When he came in I felt he was for me but I refused to adopt him right away. He had been there 3 weeks and was about to go back so I had to take him.Oh and Kota has behaved herself! yay. I knew she would. Bast, well he is a bit scared of Kota. He will hunch his back and hiss. But so far he hasn't tried to strike. And they touched noses a few times so I think everything will be fine. Oh and Bast likes Kota's FRR better than the food they were feeding him..lol. (Eukanuba). So I'll be changing his food over within the next month. I'm going to let him eat the Eukanuba for awhile so I don't waste the whole bag. I'll try to get my internet back in a few weeks. They have a new owner so I guess they are quicker at turning you off. I'm only a few weeks late. Before they'd let you go a whole month. Anyway, were adjusting. He's very cuddly! Hopefully after this adjustment period Bast and Kota will be best friends

Make sure Bast has his own space. Also make sure the litter box is where Kota can't get to or she's going to have kitty-surprise-treats (ewwww). Like dogs, you should slowly make the food change. Kitties really shouldn't eat doggy food.

Good luck!!

Hi Digs. Yes I know. This is not the first time I've owned a cat. I think the name Bast is out..lol. Sierra doesn't like it and won't call him that. So were still undecided I guess.

Cool!! I love cats! I dont care much for ours as she is just a little you know whater! But she has her moments and can be such a love bug... Well, she is going to have kittens.... AGAIN! Bloody ****.... I have been screaming at hubby to get her fixed and he keeps saying yeah, well she got out before the fixing and now we are fixin for kittens..... We agreed with the kids since Zorro and Elmiina need to find new homes due to allergies if Erica is not allergic to cats too we will keep some. The rest are homed by us. No shelters and they all have to sign contract the cats will be fixed and brought back if something does not work out....

Well I think FRR is out for his food. I just looked at the ingredients. Yellow corn is in there and it's the 2nd ingredient! So I'm shopping for kitty food. I may have to make trips to Lexington to get his food... well see.Carry absolutely get your kitties fixed.
