Exclamation Mysterious Bump?!

Wow it's been a long time since I've been here (lost link ), just wanted to say thanks to those that have helped me before in my time of need and maybe perhaps get more help?

Two days ago while grooming my chihuahua mix, I noticed a bump just about a centimeter or two away from his eye. I don't know how long it's been there and it's not noticeable unless you're face to face with him and once you do notice it, you can make it out from a few feet away from him. There is no fur growing on that area either. It feels soft to the touch, and doesn't hurt him when I do touch it. I wouldn't call it a "pimple", I've never heard such a dog occuring to dogs but I'm slightly worried. He's eating well, there's nothing out of the ordinary with his behavior. Any suggestions on what it could be?

I'll be updating later on in the early evening (EST) with a picture of the mysterious bump, my apologies for not doing so sooner. Thanks in advance for the help!

It could be an infection , it could be worse like a tumor - I would get him to the vet , as soon as you can so as not to risk any permanent damage to him - especially as it is close to his eye , even if it is only an infection , it could damage his eye .

Someone said a bad word: TUMOR. Luvit is right it could be a tumor but it could also be a spider bite (or other bug), an ingrown hair, a little bit of migrating fat, a wart, and the list goes on.

I wouldn’t make a special trip to the vet’s unless 1) the lump increases in size 2) lump starts oozing 3) dog develops other symptoms like fever, vomiting, etc. then go ASAP. Otherwise it will wait until your next scheduled visit.

All of my dogs over the course of their lives have gotten bumps like that and most disappeared within a couple of days.
