Max has died

Thank you - that is also what I found. Unfortunately, it no longer matters. Max died about 30 minutes ago.

Oh my gosh Meisti, I am speechless. The news just brings tears to my eyes, I'm so sorry. I know that you and Max had something special. As little a difference as it may make, my very sincere condolences to you.

Oh, Meisti, I am so sorry for your loss ... losing a pet is one of the hardest things we go through.... I am not religious, but like to think that one day we are reunited with all of our lost furbabies at the rainbow bridge. Here is a poem that I always find helps a little when we lose one of our precious babies. My thoughts are with you.

For those who have lost a pet.

I stood by your bed last night
I came to have a peep
I could see that you were crying
you found it hard to sleep

I whined to you softly
as you brushed away a tear
It's " me" I haven't left you
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here

I was close to you a breakfast
I watched you pour your tea
You were thinking of the many times
your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today
your arms were getting sore
I longed to take your parcels
I wish I could do more

I was with you at my grave today
you tend to it with such care
I want to reassure you
that I am not lying there

I walked with you towards the house
as you fumbled for the key
I gently put my paw on you
I smiled and said "its me"

You looked so very tired
you sank into a chair
I tried so hard to let you know
that I was standing there

Its possible for me
to be so near everyday
to say to you with certainty
" I never went away"

You sat there very quietly
then smiled like you knew
in the stillness of the evening
I was very close to you

The day is over
smile and you yawning
and say goodnight, god bless
I'll see you in the morning

And when the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide
I'll rush across to meet you
and we'll stand side by side

I have so many things to show you
there is so much for you to see
Be patient, live your journey out
then come home to be with me

This is one of those times when little is comforting but I still want to say I feel your pain and hope you find some solace in the love you shared.

My deepest condolences for the loss of your friend. I know it's little comfort but he lived a good life in the company of someone who truly loved him. He saw the world and shared your life. My heart aches for your loss.
