Talking Tell me about fostering

Well, since the hubby and I are really wanting another dog in the house but we are unsure of our military life (You know moving out of the country and the quarantine issues) we were thinking of fostering.

What a better way to give. We want to give a needy dog a chance. Being social with another pup and having a stable home and some needed training. What should be do next? Are there any articles that we should read? Help me learn more about fostering!

I would look for a rescue in your area.
Do you want to be breed specific, or do you want to do mixes?
I would talk with several rescues, they all work differently. Find one your comfortable with.
Be prepared to be taken advantage of. Rescues dont mean to, but it seems to happen. Its just so hard to find people willing to help.

Do you have any Greyhound rescues in your area? They sure are a breed who needs alot of help, and overall seem to be pretty easy going dogs.
