Starsky Update

Today marks a week since I brought him home, I can not believe how much I am falling for this guy! He is just too sweet.
He is adapting very well. I think he is in love with Meka . He chases her all over the yard, she "yells" at him the whole time. Its really cute to watch, I guess Meka is playing hard to get.
Clifford and Starsky continue to improve, I keep a pretty close eye on the boys still. Clifford is just simply jealous. Its funny to see the look on Cliffords face when Starsky is runnig full speed right at him.
Dana doesn't seem to even notice hes around, they just dont pay any attention to each other.

Starsky is eating well, and I hope he is putting on a few pounds.
He LOVES his sqeeky toys!
He still will not attempt the stairs, but thats ok, its givs Clifford and Meka a place to get away from him.
He is only in his crate when I am gone. I dont not crate him to sleep.
I have 2 living areas, and he stays in the one he is use to, he is not ready to venture out of his comfort zone.
He is getting better with guarding his "stuff" (food, toys, bed) We are working on that.

I am bit concerned that the rescue has not made contact with me to see how things are. Honeslty I feel like they dumped him on me. IF thats the case, I will ensure Starsky is taken care of.

Wonderful news all around. When a permanent home is found for him, I'm sure they will appreciate all the hard work you've put in to helping him overcome some of his issues.

Dobermom,
At this point, how many dogs have you rescued and how many dogs do you own?.
I'm sure this will be another success.

It is great to hear that Starsky is doing much better now. I bet it's fun to watch when they are all running around in the backyard.

I just dont know. I had no intention on dog #4, but he is just a sweet heart. I think my plan is to keep him till he gets placed. I can return him to the boarding kennel after the holidays when they have space for him again. Problem is, I just dont have the heart to do that, he has experienced a house for the very first time, I cant put him back in "jail". I also dont think he has the best of care there.
His house manners are perfect, how can I send him back? Clifford and him continue to improve.

Then on the other hand, I have this feeling in the back of my head that he has been dumped on me, if thats the case he has a better chance of staying. I would still try to find him a home, but I dont know any Greyhound people.

In a nut shell, he has stolen my heart! I fall for all my fosters, but this is different.

That's exactly why my DH has refused to let me do foster. He is way too scared that I will fall in love with the dogs.At one point I thought of golden rescue but I don't think it will happen. Most of the foster people that I have talked to,all, ended up adopting a dog or two.
