Starskys "rescue"

I picked up Starsky to foster on Saturday November 18. I called the rescue on Sunday the 19th to ask a few questions, since then I have not heard from them at all.

Do you think that is odd??? I know if it was my dog I would have called to check in on the foster home. They never even did a home visit on me. I guess I am just feeling they may have dumped Starsky on me.

Anyone have any thoughts??

Why not try to contact them again? Is Starsky on petfinder or any other search sites?

You could always call and see if they are actively looking for a home for him or if that is your responsibility. It does sound like a dump and run!!

I can not find any of their dogs on PetFinder.

Its USA Dog, based out of Carmel/Westfield Indiana.

Perhaps you could suggest that they use petfinder. It's the search engine everybody knows about and I know there are tons of people always looking for greyhound rescues. The lady at the register of our lunchline was thinking about one, my cousin has 2, my mom was thinking about one at one time. Petfinder really helps to get the dogs out there. See - there's another reason you can call the rescue to suggest that

If you're handy with a sewing machine perhaps you could sew a doggie vest and get some iron on text and put 'I'm an adoptable rescue dog' on the vest then when you go places people can obviously see that you have an adoptable dog with you.

I got him from a boarding kennel/Greyhound rescue.

It just seems fishy to me. Hes a great dog, and if I dont keep him he will be placeable.

That does sound fishy. That's a long time not to hear from them, I would expect them to call more often to check up on him and smake sure he was doing alright. Of course, I don't see why he would just leave him with you Have you tried calling and not been able to make contact, or have they just not been contacting you? If they haven't been talking to you, I would call to give an update and ask about finding a new home. If you're calling and they're not answering, then hmmm...
