Abe has someone interested! I did the home visit for them last night, and they seem like lovely people, and genuinely want a big moose blocky head dog. poor Abe - he's got the "big black dog" syndrome going and he's been passed over a few times.

the only thing he needs to do is pass a cat test. the potential adopters are driving their cat down to NY to interact with him and see how he does. they don't mind if the dog chases the cat for a bit, they just want to make sure it stops there.

i've got my fingers and toes crossed!

Notes: Abe is a stunning male black lab with a handsome blocky head. He is a large young adult- around 2 years old and around 80 lbs. Abe is an active lab who loves to run and fetch. He gets along great with other dogs, and is good with kids. He likes to go for car rides and leash walks- however, he is strong and does pull on the leash. He is very friendly- VERY affectionate, wants to be with you and follow you where you go. He is interested in squirrels and birds and would most likely chase cats too- so a home with no cats is best. Abe is crate-trained and house-trained. He is a tall dark and handsome beau just waiting for a family to call his own! Abe is being fostered in New England.

it's sort of amazing - their kitty is 17 and still pretty active. when he met Faith, he put her in her place very quickly

well, they ended up taking Sam # 15 instead... so, i'm sad for Abe, but at least Sam got a good home.

But good for Sam. Atleast some one got adopted, which is always better then none!

i'm not positive, but Sam's profile said he was good with cats, Abe's profile said he likes to chase them. i guess when they found another big black lab that was already good with cats it made more sense for them to take that one.
