Grooming package

I received in the mail, actually I think it was UPS, my grooming samples and gifts from Pro-Dog for Harley's first place victory in the Howl-o-ween contest.

I am VERY impressed with what they sent! The brush seems quite a bit more durable than what I've had in the past.. Harley tends to eat them as a way to avoid brushings!

The boys will have their next baths with the shampoo samples and then I will return to give you unbiaised opinion. We got the oatmeal and the shine formulas. They both smell great and I can't wait to use them..

I just used an oatmeal formula on mine, and I loved it. It really shined them up nicely.

That's great Chandra. Actually when I got my grooming kit for participation on the forum I was fairly happy with it.
The nail clippers are easy to use. I actually used those on the pic's in the grooming tips...cutting nails.
The slicker brush I use on Ellie, specially now she is moulting.
Glad you like the products.

Slicker brush v shedding blade

Just thought I'd give you and update on Poppy's grooming regime. As you all know I got a slicker brush and a shedding blade.

Well, personally I thought the shedding blade looked "vicious" so I decided not to use it and tried the slicker brush. Poppy hates the slicker brush, she will run away when I get it out (I did introduce it to her properly). BUT, (and I have to say I can't believe this) she absolutely loves the shedding blade.

She will even roll over to do bits of her body that don't need the shedding blade (like her belly). The shedding blade is also a lot easier to clean than the slicker brush.

So now I have:

"One well loved slicker brush, only used a couple of times. Looking for a loving home!!!"

As scary as a shedding blade looks they are harmless, at least a lot more so than a slicker. You can actually cause a burn on their skin with a slicker. I LOVE my shedding blade. And i use a horse rubber curry on them also. They love the curry

Ariel loves the shedding blade. I guess it scratchs just a little. Nothing else i've tried works as well or is as well tolerated.

Bailey adores the shedding blade. She gets wiggly as soon as I get it out. She also will roll over and want her belly scratched with it. It's so funny. It's also nice, because she makes sure that we don't miss any spots, and I don't have to fight her to get spots she doesn't want brushed. Because there aren't any!

Adding "Shedding Blade" to the shopping list for today! (Anka doesn't care for her brush either!)
