Dog gas... bla!

Ok is there a reason why some dogs have really bad gas that actually stink like they did a #2? Lita our pittie is the only one that has stinky gas that can knock over a grown man almost, my cousin who had her before us said even as a smaller puppy wks old age they were just like that and that could rule out food switch. Could she need another sort of diet, or does her gas just stink that bad no matter what we did? I look for a pile when I smell that smell, and when it's not anything to clean up *she's still in her potty trianing process not with us that long still* I can't help to cover my nose for five mins almost.

Could depend on the food. I find most dogs have gas at times though. does yours stink up after every meal? If she does, then I would be suspicious of the food.

I think it could be certain dogs. Our new rescue was terrible adn I thought it was the food from the pound. I switched him to Canidae which is what my others eat and it is still bad. Not as often but still as bad and yes I look for a pile too. His is worst when he lays down and relaxes, then it all comes out

Georgie is extemely gassy... she can clear out all the check out lanes at PetSmart. I've had her on 4 different foods, and nothing makes it go away completely... and actually, she was best with her gas on the lower quality foods (science diet, nutro ultra) than she has been on the higher quality foods (chicken soup, natural balance). Then again, the lower quality foods gave her skin issues... Science Diet especially.

I wish we had Ariel when we were renovating. Her's could peel wallpaper. Would have saved time and money renting a steamer. LOL.

I think the Bulldog families or pug faced dogs make tons of gas. Can smell up an entire home almost. Do not feel it is the dog food to blame just the dog...........

Ask your vet I think they can give them Symethacone (sp???). Check for soy in the dog food too, sometime it is hard to digest and gives them the "fluffs".

My Boxer and a lot of Boxers I knew were award winning gaseous dogs!!
Emily could clear a room and not even wake up!!!
Mara, Pointer/Retreiver, doesn't do this at all. I must say, though, I probably feed Mara better food than I did Emily.
