In need of direction

I am need of a little direction how do you get involved in animal rescue. I have rescue dog but we found him on our own. What can I do get involved I am primarily interested in Pitbull rescue I live in Wichita Falls Texas aprox.130 miles north of Fort Worth Texas and our humane society is so hateful they will give no information at all PLEASE help I want to make a diffrence!!!!!!!

Check out your local rescue. I am sure they will be able to supply you with information on how to get involved.

That is the problem is the only rescue the humane society because they are NO help and if not how do I find the local rescue???

I checked on Petfinder, and it shows 3 different rescue organizations in Witchita Falls: The Humane Society, 3B rescue and adoption of Witchita Falls (but they mostly do border collies, boxers and brittanys), and P.A.W.S. around Witchita Falls

Sometimes rescue organizations need foster homes in other cities. For example, the boxer rescue organization in Tulsa, OK has foster homes in OKC...

Here is a pitbull rescue in Houston, but their website says they serve dogs all over the country.

And I don't know why my computer won't pull up the website, but another pitbull rescue link I found was for the Southeast Dallas Humane Society. The contact name is Wendy Miller.
