My poor baby...

Molly got her rabies vacc. today & is miserable!

The vet gave me some doggie-downers for the New Year (just in case she reacts badly to the noise...we have fireworks available to the public) & suggested I do a trial run before tomorrow night to see how she reacts.

Well, she kept whining every few minutes after her shots & I thought now would be a good time for the trial run...at least she'll sleep through the discomfort. Yeah...right. Now she's whining every half hour & I have to carry her out to go potty, carry her to get water & carry her back to bed because she's too dopey to stand on her four legs. It's funny in a sad way.

I feel so bad for her. Is there anything else I can do to ease her discomfort? I called the vet & they said rabies vacc. sometimes "bite" pretty hard & I just have to wait it out. She said Molly should be better by tomorrow.

I massage the vacc. area VERY gently and find this helps. Usually, all is back to normal in a day or two. Bogey just got his recently and developed a nice sized lump at the site. It went away in a few weeks. Hope your baby feels better soon!

Hey! Thanks for reminding me! She woke up just fine yesterday morning...back to her old self! She passed the New Year's Eve fireworks (and WOW! What a display it was!) with flying colors & no doggie-downers! Totally bomb-proof!

YEAH! It's always better to get through it without the doggy downers!

YES! I did NOT like the effects they had on her during the 'trial run' the vet suggested! I'm very happy to do without them & I'm sure, so is Molly!
