ummm my yorkies smell

hi my yorkies smell and whenever we give them a bath they smell good for 2 days and then they smell again. Any of you yorkie people know what to give them for there sent to smell better

What do they smell like. Are they just getting into stuff. Or maybe it is a.nal glands. They can often cause an odor if they need to be expressed.

What are you useing to bathe them with? You might need a better shampoo.

I don't know what could be going on. My Yorkies don't have an odor problem except for my husbands baby. She has a lot of eye drainage and when it gets time for a bath her face smells bad from the drainage.

food, would also be something to look into, apart from regular bathing there are natural doggie deodorants available that don't dry out the skin, which is something you need to be careful of with regular bathing.

What are their ages, and how often are you bathing them at the moment and with what?

I personally don't feel that is has much to do with what shampoo your using.. But yorkies tend to get food and other stiff in their little beards and so their faces get stinky. Using a baby wipe to wash their face daily helps.

My yorkie doesn't stink at all unless she gets food on her face. I use groomers edge when I bathe her and I also keep her in a shorter cut.

Mine isn't greasy and stinky...I have a friend that breeds them and she has like 20 in her house (yikes) and they don't stink either.

Greasy? LOL. My Yorkies smell great. Seriously. And their hair is not greasy.

Yours might need their a.nal glands expressed. Do they scoot their butts on the ground? Any skin irritations? Is it their breath that stinks? If it's breath, it could be an infected tooth or gum problem.

I've heard people mention that before. My breeder said that you have to wash the yorkie more often than most dogs??? She said once a week, I do and I have not had a problem. Food hanging from the beard that I did not get to once in awhile, I've experienced. Also infected ears can leave off a terrible odor.
