I finally found one!
My husband and I have been looking for a Pit Bull for several years now. I belong to another forum and they pretty much just send emails to about dogs needing rescues. I found a black Pit girl in a shelter in Texas named Maybelline. She was a stray that apparently had puppies recently and when they were walking her down the hall at the shelter she saw some puppies another dog had and she layed down in front of the cage and starting whining. When I read that it broke my heart! She looks just like our last Pit girl and I emailed the lady and told her that I would like to be kept updated on what happens to her because she was due to be euthanized the next day and there wasn't anything I could do because I live so far away. She emailed me back saying that they are doing a transport to Iowa in a couple of weeks that would be free if I would just pay to have her adopted they could get her to me! So I did! Here is Maybelline! After I finally get her home I need to come up with a different name.................

It is just so strange how it worked out. I was just willing to sponsor her or something, but I really wanted her. When the lady said they are transporting to Iowa which doesn't happen very often and she can be all mine I started crying. She is the ONLY dog I have ever emailed about because she looks just like the Pit girl we had that we loved very much. I guess it was fate.

it's too bad you aren't closer to CT - our shelters are totally overrun with pits

I am getting frustrated! I emailed the lady last night on whether Maybelline has been pulled from the shelter and she told me that she isn't allowed at the shelter anymore but there is a lady named Kimberly that does the pulls and sets up the temporary boarding until transports. All she could tell me was that she thinks Maybelline is still alive and she should have been pulled last night. What!? I want to know what is going on! I haven't received anything about where to send the money or even to set up a home visit or even if my application has been approved.

Ok I can calm down now. Maybelline was pulled from the shelter on Wednesday and is now in a boarding facility waiting to be transported. I just got the information to send the money for her and it will be on it's way tomorrow. I asked if there was any way they could take pictures of her while she is in the boarding facility and she said she would but it might be a couple of days. She also said she will keep me updated on all of the transporing information. Hopefully, she will be here soon! Cross your fingers everybody that my new baby will be here soon and I can begin to spoil her rotten!
