Can you donate a dollar and save a puppy?

At first I was pessimistic about this. Why spend so much money on a surgery for a puppy when so many healthy ones are put down each year? But then I read where it says that if everyone who has read this page in one week had just donated a single dollar, it would nearly be enough to cover the cost of the surgery. But instead only one of 1600 people sent in any kind of donation. He is a young puppy and after the surgery he can live a normal life. The vets working on his case have already donated so much. I usually don't donate to something like this, but the paypal option makes it easy and even a small amount is appreciated so I guess this one caught me more than other similar stories.

Any life is worth saving. If the vets & others would stop worrying about the bucks & started caring about saving a life this poor little guy would have the surgery without donations.

You have to have money to do surgery. If every vet, rescuer, etc just went ahead and saved every life without worrying about money, they and their family would be homeless and all starve to death. It costs money to buy food for the animal, electricity, heat/ AC for the building it will be housed in, drugs, anesthetics, sutures, needles, scalpels, etc, etc, etc. If you want to talk about someone not worrying about the bucks, start talking about the drug company, equipment company, electricity and utility company, food company, etc, etc, etc. Now if they all donated the goods, then yeah, great no one would need to worry about the money. BUT until then, since you don't seem to be worried about money, then donate some of yours.

Thanks Fehu, I'm sure they'll appreciate it. I just read the newest update that says they've raised over three quarters of the total already. That's awesome.
