Possible New Foster
Well, we are getting our next foster soon and this is who the rescue is hoping will work out with us. She's been there for several months and is in boarding. The only concern is whether she gets along with our girls. She's a cutie.
Say "hello" to Cayenne. Animal shelters in California are not required to hold on to animals any longer than 4 days after they become available for adoption, yet miraculously, the staff at one LA Shelter held on to little Cayenne for three months! They had fallen in love with this sweet shepherd mix and were hoping beyond hope that someone would adopt her. When GSROC received, not one, not two, but a dozen pleas from various friends of Cayenne asking us to please save her life, we knew that this girl was special. Cayenne is a butterscotch-colored mix with a big shepherd spirit packaged in a smaller, compact body. She gives kisses freely and melts hearts with her sincere gestures of friendship and trust. We're amazed by how forgiving and good-natured she is in spite of her long wait at the shelter. UPDATE 11/14/06 Cayenne had surgery to have her bad eye removed. Our vets told us that she was totally blind in that eye and that it was causing her discomfort. Cayenne doesn't let anything slow her down or dampen her spirits! She is a happy little clown who LOVES to hug! She is a gentle hugger, and she would stand on two feet and hug you all day if you let her! Cayenne loves people of every size. However, she has told us that kitties and small dogs are out of the question. She might consider a friendly larger dog, but she hasn't decided yet so we'll keep working with her to convince her.
