Senior goldens need help!

Yes,I've seen it as I'm also a member of that forum.Isn't it a sad story.I would help if I could but I'm only allowed 2 dogs,in the house i'm in.Hope they can help them.L

YOU REALLY WON'T BELIEVE THIS TRUE STORY
Dogs are amazing creatures. You will wonder how we got such a big smile on this golden face when you hear what these two have been through. This is Boomer and Bambi and here is what has happened

January 6, 2006
Bambi is a 7 year old female and her best friend, Boomer is a 10 year old male who came into our program back in January, 2006. At that time, Bambi weighed 115 pounds and was so obese that she couldn't walk. Bambi lost 30 pounds while in foster care but she also lost her best friend. She just wasn't the same, so we arranged to put her back with Boomer who was also in foster care.

Mid-Summer
Their first adoption failed because the adopters didn't have a fence and they were too lazy to walk the dogs and they got cited by their neighborhood association for letting the dogs run loose.
So, we found someone who offered to foster them TOGETHER. Soon, this family said they wanted to adopt them. Everyone was so happy. Finally, Boomer and Bambi were going to get their forever home.

January 6, 2007
But on January 6th, 2007, a year from the date they came to us, we got a call from an animal shelter saying they had two of our dogs -- their microchips said they were AGA dogs but no other information. We quickly searched our database and found it was Boomer and Bambi.
We told the animal control officer the owners' names and we were sure they must be frantic looking for them. It was then that we learned the terrible truth.

The animal control officer said, "yes, I know - they called us on 12/28 and said there were two goldens in their front yard and that they didn't belong to them and to come get them." We couldn't fathom this heartless and cruel act, particulary when adopters sign a contract and agree to return the adopted dog to us should they be unable to keep the dog and that under no circumstance is one of our dogs to be turned into a shelter.

This was a death sentence for these two dogs. Both dogs are in bad shape, they have been shaved and Boomer has not had his medication for his arthritis for weeks.

Today
They are safe and are together. And Bambi still has a smile for everyone, despite having seen the worst in people. We truly hope this story outrages you and we beg you to open up your home to these two dogs...who deserve love, comfort and safety. Thank goodness, they have each other. But please help us find them a home to live their lives out in peace.

My goodness, after reading it I want to find those idiots who abandoned their dogs that way and tell them exactly what I think. IDIOTS!! I hope that these dogs can finally find some peace and a happy retirement with great people!

It never ends. Just when you think you've heard it all something worse comes up. I can't understand why people do the things they do. Almost makes you sad to say you are human.
