Unhappy I found A Rednose Pit

I finnaly found a rednose pit on petfinders rescue. WOW what an expirience I was looking for a younger dog so that the transition would be easier for Bruno. Well I found one and drove and hour to pick him up from a young couple that had suposidly bought him from a breeder he was suppose to have papers and he was 10 weeks old. We finnaly get there on Friday night during a Texas ice storm so I wasnt trying to stay around and chat due to the weather. He is a wonderful dog and he is definently a red nose but 10 weeks no way!! He is maybe 8 weeks at the max. And now all of the sudden the papers are not filled out properly so the lady said she would send them to me when the breeder corrected them (seriously doubt I will ever see them).I was told that he was crate trained the only training there is that he screams for hours when you put him in it, I was told that they were potty training him (to go in the house) he smelt like pee so bad it made you gag and due to him being white his hind legs, belly and tail were stained yellow due to the excessive amount of time he was left to lay in his own pee. The point is when you clasify a dog as a rescue and then lie to the people who are paying an adoption fee and are willing to go the exta mile for the animal it really leaves a bad taste in thew mouth of those who want to help animal rescue. This will not stop me from adopting and doing rescue work I was just shocked and wanted to give you all a heads up.

Yes we have Gotti and he ia a proud member of our family no matter where he came feom he is stil in need of a great home and I will do my best to provide that. He has 3 older brothers and they all get along great, we are so excited to have him it is just a shame the dishonesty that came with him.

If truly wish you the very best of luck with this breed that is so much misunderstood and mistreated. It is such a pity for any breed to be used for fighting and making money on. People make the mistake of saying: Back Yard Breeders and Puppy Mills, which is worse really?
If your breeding with true ethics of a certain breed spending money buying the best you can afford, paying for your investment, raising puppies as pets to sell so people get nice looking ones, what is so wrong with this?? Is it better to breed a Champion or Titled dog and get none in a litter that still sells to those wanting beautiful puppies or selling a breed of puppies to learn to fight young and kill each other? I do not thoroughly understand some Breeders thoughts in doing this, is it not correct to pay for your investment, breed good dogs of a breed, sell as Pet Quality and find great homes to those that will pay than sell pups to kill? Makes no sense to me but I am fast learning this business, I hope so.??

Aww congrats! What a great pup to get, and rescue omg what way the poor babes was living. You saved him sounds like, and sure that he'll be loved better off with you.

If someone is going to be a good breeder thet should raise them as you would one of your own to keep, and start them off to get along with other animals/people from the start so when you give them away you know they were raised well those weeks with you knowing they'll do well with another family. Some are for the money some breeders, and the ones that don't get the attention they should have. Our pit came from a family who had the parents, the other sibs and the person who had her before us said that the home was full of love I'm so happy to know that she got a good start. Your pup sounds like he'll get the love he needs, and the company with other friends.
