Question Strange lump (mass) behind shoulder........

    Hello,

Poor Angel....... We were rubbing her last nite while she was laying down and we found a lump just behind her shoulder.

It feels like a hard mass, it is about the size of a Toonie and mabe the thickness of a finger. I can kind of pull it so I can feel the thickness.

It does not hurt her at all, there is no fur rubber off or signs of a wound on or near it. She does not lick the area or bother it, so it cant bug her.

We are worried. We always get worried when we feel a lump.

Now before we take this her to the vet again, and put her through that........... I wonderd if anyone could ease my mind or have any ideas?

Are dobies prone to lumps?? Or cancer? Or shoulder problems???

I think for now I will leave it for 3 or 4 days if it does not change take her to the vet (using resuce remedy LOL)

    Thanks guys

    Melinda,

I think that you can give it a couple of days to see if it disappears, enlarges, or stays the same. I found one site that might help...even if it's used to rule out anything serious.

    Dog Tumor

Good luck and please keep us posted.

OK I think I might have been an idiot!! LOL. I just remember that Angel just got her shots at the vet last Wednesday and the vet said he does them all behind the right shoulder so if there is any lumps or anything that is why..............

OMG I feel dumb now!!! I seriously worry to much about these dogs! I should have thought a bit more before I made this thread!!!!

Thanks Emmagirl. Those sites are very good info. I am pretty sure and hope that the lump is just from the shot. I am dumb.....

You're not dumb.....you're observant!!! You should probably keep an eye on it anyway to make sure it does go away and not get bigger. Did the vet say how long the lump could last?

    Thanks guys.......

Mara- I dont remember how long the vet said it could last, I dont think he even said. I just know he said there could be a lump behind the right shoulder and not to worry if you see it. HAHA I worried! I checked the cats and they got shots that day to, but they dont have lumps, she must be more sensitive.

Since its been almost a full week if she still has it tommorow I am going to call the vet and tell him that its still there from the shot and is that normal.
