My boston terrier is about a yr. old and she has this bad habbit of eating her poop
What do i need to do to make her stop. And another thing she use to do or she still might i'm not sure she always throws up about 3xs a day. But recently we changed her food and from that time i havent seen her throw up but thats cause i keep her outside now. Could the food have been the problem???

what kind of food are you feeding your dog now? There are a few options here. One could be a poor quality food, another could be just a bad habit. Another could be a natural instinct to keep its area clean. (mine does it too) The throwing up well....if your dog is eating its own poo that would be a place to start. (mine does this too on occasion) Do you have a cat that your dog could be eating its poo? Cat poo makes them REALLY sick. Also the food could have been causing it. Changing the food is always a good place to start when trying to figure out stomach issues. Hopefully this helps and let me know. One trick that I use with my dog which worked GREAT for making him stop eating his own poo was pouring pineapple juice on his food. It makes the poo taste bad. Also adding green beans should have the same effect.

My dogs have none of the causes for eating poop as described in the article. We have taken them to the vet to have them checked for anything they may be lacking. All of the tests came back great. Believe me they are not hungry either. Hope someone can come up with an answer to this one. I am totally lost on why they eat their own poop, other than they can smell food it it. <YUCK>!

Bad habit. Many dogs do it and many do it who eat a high quality food. Just keep the area clean. I have one who will do it to though he is new and I am working on teaching him not to. It is gross.

I've tried that and it didn't work
. Mine will only eat fresh and from only one of my dogs. Not his own. Once he is let out again he could care less unless someone just did it.

Although unsightly and less than desirable...it does have a name.. Coprophagy. It's not at all unusual.
