Exclamation Dumped on the side of the road...

I am not exactly sure what breed dog this is can anyone tell me?

He was found at one of our local rest homes, where my mom works, and they put him in the storage room until the end of that shift. All of the employees talk about it and they said they didnt want to take the dog to pound, just in case it came up missing. Well mom's boss put a note in the main office in case anyone was looking for him. And mom brought him home since so he wasnt out in 30 degree bad weather.....

I am going to assume that hes been around for a few years like maybe close to 10 or so bc his teeth look awful....some missing and some wore down..

The last one was after the bath I gave him. We named him Oscar because we believe whoever had him last, there was a male who beat him because he cant stand males, he growls and tries to bite at their shoes.

So could anyone help me by telling me what breed he is?

Looks like a little Shih Tzu to me. What a sweet looking boy. Hope you find a home for him!

if no one claims him in a week we are going to take him to the vet to see exactly how old he is and how much longer they think he has to live bc he just acts like an older dog...

I would also say shih tzu. Could also be a lhasapso, but he looks pretty small.

Definitely very shi tzu with something in there to breed down the height. Maybe some PBGV way down the line? That is a priceless face! So glad you were able to take him in and provide for him. Thank you!

He might even be a Havanese.

OOOH, now I will bet my life on it (having owned them for 12 1/2 years) that you have a very beautiful pure Shih-Tzu boy there. And are you a lucky gal. They are such a nice breed, alwasy looking to please. Just give him a lap and he will be so so so happy, as will you! And you will sure get kisses GALORE!

Once he is groomed he will be georgous! He may need to be cut short first to ensure any matting is removed and hi coat grows in nice and thick.

God bless you for taking care of this beautiful pup! TRUST me, you will NOT regret it!

No Havanese or Lhasa Apso in my opinion.

Looks Shih-tzu with POSSIBLY some pekingese because of how he carries his tail, and how the ears are set... and how his legs are set as well... but very likely that it's all poorly bred shih-tzu.
