My english bulldog recently got hospitalized for gastritis and i was wondering if anyone had experience with this. its her first time to ever be sick. she went home 2 days ago with no energy moves very slowly. she is eating well now but still doesnt drink from her water bowl, we have to give her water through a dropper. and like i said she walks very slowly and seems to have a hard time going up and down the stairs. i know her stomach is still kind off sore when we tried to press on it she seemed agitated. i started giving her more food hoping it will give her more energy. we just started giving here pumpkin filling (vets advice) since she has no bowel movement for two days. that helped since she went today. she is slowly recovering. is there anything else i have to do? is this normal for dogs that was hospitalized? anyone had experience with gastritis? help!

Have you ever experienced gastritis yourself, all the diarrhoea, vomiting, it makes you feel listless, tired, generally out of sorts.
It will take your baby a few days to get back into things.
You could try a little glucose in warm water to pick up her energy a bit.
Hope she heals soon. Good Luck.

You are so welcome, if she isn't picking up in a couple of days or you notice blood in her stools, or vomiting again, please go back to the vets.

my girl is doing a lot more than she has been. she is slowly recovering back to her old self. she is walking faster now. im still working to regulate her bowel. we have been feeding her pumpkin filling. i would hate for her to be constipated after that bad stomach problem. she pees more than she poops. i hope as she recovers her bowel returns to normal too..
