Question OTC tapeworm meds?

Ugh! Wyatt has tapeworms again. They are so yucky!!

My MIL came to visit and brought her dog which had fleas. Despite Wyatt being treated for them he still managed to get a few and most likely ingest one. MIL is gone and Wyatt doesn't have any fleas...now to tackle the tapes...do we HAVE to go to the vet for the medicine??

Nope! do a google search. There are some catalogs that have them. I don't remember which ones off the top of my head. Some feed stores have them also.

I have used Adams tapeworm pills on cats worked great. Just need to know the dogs weight to treat them and remember to treat again as the directions state

Granted I can't watch him in the yard absolutely 100% of the time... I haven't SEEN him do it...

I will look for the Adams brand pills. He is good about taking meds...

lots of animals get tapes and if you have rabbits, cats etc in and out of the yard the dog could be ingesting their poop
my dogs love to find cat poop, it's like a delicasy (sp)yuck!
i used to have to do my cats twice a year because they hunted critters and ate them.

Yes and they are tiny little pills I think they are one for each 5 lbs. they package 5 of them in clear capsules so you can have an easier time with dosing a larger dog
