Okay I have looked and looked and I have not seen anything on grapes….no wonder I didn’t know they were bad….
About 6 months ago I had to rush Hudson to the emergency vet because he ate a whole bowel of grapes and they had to pump his stomach. I didn’t know at the time that grapes were so bad but I guess they are very toxic and can shut down the liver and kidneys. So because I have not seen anything yet on here about grapes I just thought I would send out this warning. And yes that goes for raisins as well….(my mom asked why raisins…I had to break it to her that raisins and grapes are the same thing…lol) |

Don't forget the following are also toxic to dogs:
Onions Chocolate Garlic Mushrooms Macadamia Nuts Walnuts Pear pips, the kernels of plums, peaches and apricots, apple core pips (contain cyanogenic glycosides resulting in cyanide poisoning) Potato peelings and green looking potatoes Rhubarb leaves Moldy/spoiled foods Alcohol Yeast dough Coffee grounds, beans & tea (caffeine) Hops (used in home brewing) Tomato leaves & stems (green parts) Broccoli (in large amounts) Cigarettes, tobacco, cigars |

That's what I thought b/c they have it as a natural flea repelant.

Real quick. Dear Abby does an article on behalf of pets & for years her post says that grapes, onion & garlic are all bad for the kidneys/liver. I often see garlic in pet products though??? Odd to say the least. The other items on the list that Bos listed are perhaps harmful in other ways as well. But the 3 are supposedly the big 3 that affect kidney/liver function. I just don't give mine any of those items. I have that better safe than sorry moto!
