Exclamation I believe my dog is constipated?

Since early this morning, my dog Baby has been walking around the backyard trying to use the potty. All he does is squat and strain, and I noticed a trickle of blood coming out of him. What in the world is going on and what can I do? All help is appreciated!

P.S. The emergency vet is pretty far from us and I'm very worried about my baby.

How old is he?

Does he seem dehydrated?

You can give some canned pumpkin.

Baby is about 9 years old, and he does seem dehydrated too. I got him to drink some water, but he didn't want very much. Thank you for the canned pumpkin advice, I will try that!

Blood is coming from his pooper when he strains to potty. It drizzles down his back side. I rubbed his belly, and he didn't seem to be in pain. I don't think he ate any sticks. My mom gave him some of those real chicken hyde strips, maybe that contributed?

He could be blocked and the chicken hyde could be wedge in his tushy. If you are brave and have a pair of rubber gloves you could feel up in there to see if you feel anything stuck.

Thank you for the advice! I put on some gloves and checked, but didn't feel anything. Also, he's pretty warm and his nose isn't wet like it usually is. And now, when he lays down for a while and gets up, he limps and drags his back leg.

Just a quick update:
Baby threw up about 30 minutes ago, then he started prancing around and trying to get me to play with him. Now he's resting again. I let him out several times today, didn't see him have a bowel movement. I am still going to be safe and take him to his vet tomorrow.
