Smile Black in nail

Hey everyone!
One of my Cavalier King Charles has black in one of her nails, dont know what to do, could it be infected?
Any advice would be great!

Cheers,
Becy

Sometimes nails are black or have variations in color.

My Oliver has some nails that are white and some that are black. My Georgie has all white nails, except the base of them is naturally a dark reddish color that fades to white as it gets closer to the tip.

Has your dogs nail always had black in it? Does it seem painful to touch? Does she act like it hurts to walk around on it?

Is that normal with the reddish in it b/c Nomad has all white nails to but her one back one has a reddish colour in it but she doesn't act like it hurts.

I took her to the vet once for the reddish color cause I thought maybe they were infected, and he just said that it was probably her normal coloring.

WOW! This is the first time I've ever used this site and there are soooooo many replies already! Her nails are normally white the nail is white but the hollowed out part inside of the nail is black, weve always had dogs, some with naturally black nails, but this is completely different.
The dog that has it has Hydro-Melia aswell so she's prone to picking up infections.

Thank you for replying-your all amazing!!

Becy

On Hudsons back feet his claws are black and white...but on the a couple of the white ones there is a black stripe in there....he is okay with it....I think that is normal coloring....but I agree with everyone..the black ones are horrable to cut.

If your pooch is favoring that foot I would go to the vet and let him look at it.

Sometimes the groove underneath the nail will get dirt stuck inside it making it look black. Try loosening it up if it is dirt...
