Throws Up

My dog seems to throw up once a day?

I have a 4.5 month old male cockapoo and he seems to throw up like once every other day. Is this normal, he does eat things he shouldn't. When I am in the basement he follows me down and likes to run around and sometimes he eats something before i have a chance to get it out of his mouth. Any thought??

Speak to your vet. It can be nerves or something more serious, but the best course of action is to discuss first with your vet.

No once a day is not normal. And if it because he is eating something that he really shouldn't be then maybe it would be a good idea to prevent him from doing it. Like if you know he is going to eat something off the basement floor, make him stay upstairs.
Definitely get him to the vet!

Throwing up constantly is NOT normal. Since this is a little puppy, you want to make certain that your dog is actually healthy. If you think the vomitting is due to your dog eating things he shouldn't eat, it is up to you to curb that behavior and/or get rid of anything that he might eat. However, I think it is much more efficient to train your dog to not eat arbitrary items off the floor, especially since your dog is still young and hence, fairly easy to train.

If you have concerns that the vomitting is related to anything other than "scavening" you need to see your vet and have your puppy checked out for possible diseases.

I agree that a vet visit would be a wise idea. Since he's so young, he's bound to be trying to eat everything and anything that he comes across.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

That is not normal. My dogs almost never throw up. I think a vet visit in needed.
