Teeth growing into gums??

I have a dachshund puppy whose lower K9s seem to be growing into his upper gums. I've never seen this in any of my other dogs, and I wanted to get all of your opinions.

Here you can see where it's growing into the gum

Here is how his teeth sit when his mouth is closed

And here's the other side.

Let me know what you guys think. Thank you!

If it were my pup, I'd talk to the vet about pulling them. It does not look like any of the dogs I have had. Almost like they teeth are misaligned.

Actually, you may not have to have them pulled. Some vets are using a procedure where they will put a brace on the upper teeth to help them straiten out. I can't for sure tell you how many vets are doing it or what it cost. I've only seen it done before on Animal Plant and Ripley's believe it or not. In any case, they don't really look that bad to me. If there rubbing on the gum or your pup looks in pain, do go ask your vet to give you all the options they can offer first.

He's not in any pain, it just looks painful. It doesn't really affect him. But I'm worried that it would affect him in the future. Thank you both for your input

It could just be getting ready to fall out, but I would take him to the vet just to be sure.

You are going to have to take him to a vet. Also if you got him from a breeder you should let her know. One of Zorro's sisters had the same and had to go to the vet and get all of her baby teeth pulled out. It was some sort of a condition if I remember correctly and the vet said there was a good chance that all the pups would need it. Or it could just be like in in humans where some teeth just need to be pulled.

Here is how his teeth sit when his mouth is closed

It looks to me like the gums appear to be a little swollen or enlarged. I would definately seek a vet's opinion. I've never seen this in a pup.

I'm glad that it doesn't seem to be causing him any discomfort but would cetainly get his teeth and gums looked at.

You know, I must second that. If there his baby teeth, they may just be getting ready to come out. However, some dogs do have problems with them coming out on there own, but you might be about to help. Take a piece of gauze and rub them with your finger, brushing his teeth and rubbing his gums.

i agree with that also. although in some breeds of dogs it is hereditry so you do have to do your research on the breeder.
