Does she look prego??

I just got this little dog from TFT rescue. I am fostering her until after the new year. I have only had her 4 days, but she looks like she might be pregnant to me. She was not spayed right away, because they just needed to get her out of her previous owners who left her locked in a crate for nearly 2 weeks! She was fed and got water, but nothing else. She was taken out by the owners 82 y/o mother who could not stand it any more. So, now she has a new name, Lily, and a new chance at a proper home.

Does she look pregnent or just chubby from being left in a crate 24/7 ?

Gosh, I dont know! Guess, would be chubby! Ellie may be your best advice here. She usually comes on in the evening. If she was in a crate that much she will change dramatically in a short period with weight and muscle mass.

I am going to take her in early next week to have her looked at and her shots and stuff. I might see about having an x-ray done then too. She has been running around like crazy here at my house. A luxury she was denied before. So, I guess we will see. I think there is something going on besides being chubby. I squeezed her teets and nothing came out, so maybe she is just a little poochie.

Do you take x-ray, if she is pregnent?

I think so. They count skeletons. That is what they did on the one and only littler of puppies I ever bred 7 years ago anyway.

Hard to tell from the side on photo, but by the looks of her, No, when the teats come down, usually the two back ones drop first, near the back legs. They always look bigger than the rest, then the others follow but not until at least 1/2 way through.
I would need a shot showing head on so i could see the width of her body.
Have you squeezed a teat to see if there is any milk? Does her vulva look swollen?

I squeezed. I got nothing. I just took these. It is snowing so I didn't go outside to get pictures.

While I can't say with any certainty NO, I would in my opinion by the pics say NO, she just has a little belly fat.
The vulva looks that of a young dog that has never had pups, see the deep grooves on either side, well when they become pregnant the gooves go and never come back.
The dissappearing of the grooves and swollen vulva follow the heat cycle and subsequent pregnancy.
Xrays will only show pups in the last 2 weeks, the skeleton of the pup is one of the last things to develop.

I don't think so.... they don't let pregnant woman get x-rays, so why would they do it to dogs? I think the radiation would hurt the pups.
