Question

Hello, I'm new to the board

I have a 2.5 year old black lab who is due to have her first litter in a little over 2 weeks. She seems perfectly healthy, is eating a ton, and is growing rather large
However, the other day, after throwing the tennis ball a few times for her, I noticed a white discharge from her rear end. I was just wondering if this was something to be concerned about or not. I looked up the symptoms in our dog book and the only thing I could come up with was pyometra. But could she have this while she is pregnant?
I plan on taking her to the vet when I can get an appointment in. We live out in the country and the nearest vet is in the next town anyway, so it would be a long trip, so I thought I'd try posting here first.
Thanks in advance for any advice you guys may have!

Hi Everwood, is the discharge comming out like a string, sticky and cloudy white in colour. It will dribble down sort of globby like.

If so it is normal in the last couple of weeks, it can change slightly in colour in the last couple of days.

That is exactly what it is!
So this is normal? Why does this happen?

Ah!! my knowledge unfortunately is from practical experience, so I don't know why.
It will only happen once maybe a couple of times in the next two weeks, if it is continual you had better get it checked out, what I mean is it shouldn't be happening all day long, you will notice it on occasions.
My Lab Sophie's went a yellow, mustard colour two days before whelping.
My other Lab Ellie had it a week before whelping, I asked my vets about it and he said it was fine.
Just double check your dates, she may come a little early. If it is her first litter, 2 days early can be quite the norm. I would also slow down any activity. NO RUNNING, walks only.
